Recently, Chuandong Shipyard began a 40-day technical transformation of the original 74-meter pontoon in the harbor. After the renovation, the buoyancy of the pontoon will be increased from 1,800 tons to 2,500 tons, providing reliable equipment support for the construction of the 10,000-ton ship.
The pontoon is one of the important equipments for launching the ship products of the Chuandong Plant. It is the key auxiliary equipment for the ship to complete the towing and turning in the launching process, and together with the inclined frame constitutes a complete ship product launching system. The original pontoon is 74 meters long and 16 meters wide and was built in the 1970s. In recent years, due to the leap-forward development of the factory, the ship products have developed from the original 3,000-ton class to the current 10,000-ton class. The 74-meter pontoon has been unable to meet the needs of production and construction. For this reason, the factory decided to carry out technical transformation.
This technical transformation will transform the original 16-meter width of the 74-meter pontoon into 21 meters and increase the lifting capacity to 2,500 tons. At the same time, the Chuandong Plant will also make a more scientific setting of the skids in the harbor basin to meet the needs of the towing and steering of 10,000-ton ship products in indoor ships.
