A few days ago, two energy-saving retrofit projects for residual heat and residual pressure and circulatory system in Zibo City, Shandong Province were launched. The project will use three years of time to promote waste heat and pressure utilization in the seven industries of metallurgy, building materials, petrochemicals, chemical industry , thermoelectricity, and textile, and implement energy-saving renovation projects for the recycling system in the industrial and construction fields.

In order to promote the two energy-saving retrofit projects, Zibo City will build a technology exchange platform by periodically publishing a list of key promotion energy conservation technologies, holding energy conservation technology promotion meetings, and on-site exchange meetings. At the same time, it will support powerful energy-saving technology service companies to implement contract energy management. For enterprises and users to provide diagnostics, financing, design, transformation, operation, management "one-stop" service, energy-saving benefit-sharing investment recovery and a reasonable profit. The city will prioritize projects with obvious energy-saving effects and apply for special funds from the state, provinces, and cities.

According to preliminary calculations, after the completion of the two major energy-saving renovation projects, the city’s residual heat and pressure utilization, and the recycling system’s energy use efficiency will increase by 20%, saving 600,000 tons of standard coal annually.
