· Toyota recalls more than 6 million problem cars worldwide without involving the Chinese market

Toyota Motor Corporation recently announced that it will produce models such as Corolla, RAV4, Camry, Highlander and Yaris from January 2005 to August 2006 and August 2008 to December 2010 in Japan, North America and Europe. Countries and Australia implemented recalls, with a total of approximately 6.5 million vehicles.

This recall is due to the improper filling method of the grease in the driver's door electric window switch. The grease application amount of some parts may be insufficient. In this case, the powder and moisture generated by the sliding of the terminal may form a short circuit. This causes the terminals to heat up, causing the switch and the surrounding resin parts to be melted. In extreme cases, it may cause a fire.

In this large-scale recall, the US market involves 2 million vehicles, 700,000 in Mexico/Canada, 1.2 million in Japan, and 600,000 in Europe. The "First Financial Daily" reporter learned from Toyota China on October 22 that the large-scale recall did not involve the Chinese market. The explanation given by Toyota China is that due to the RAV4 and Highlander imported by Toyota China during the production of the above-mentioned objects, the cars produced by Tianjin FAW Toyota, such as Corolla, RAV4, Vios, and Yahoo, Camry and Highlander produced by GAC Toyota The recall was filed in October 2012 and the heat-resistant grease was applied to the repaired parts. The same problem did not exist and was not affected by this recall.

In addition, Toyota Motor Corporation will carry out a recall of the Crown model produced in November 2012 to September 2015 in Japan, with a total of approximately 140,000 vehicles. The recall is due to insufficient strength of the engine cover lock attachment portion, and the wind pressure generated during high-speed running of the hood lock release state deforms the attachment portion of the sub-lock device, possibly causing the sub-lock engagement portion to come out. The engine cover is opened while driving. The response from Toyota China is that this recall does not involve China. After investigation, the Crown Automobile produced by Tianjin FAW Toyota has a sub-locking device with a reinforcing plate to ensure the strength of the engine lock body mounting portion is sufficient, and the same problem does not exist. Moreover, China does not officially import the target vehicle, so it is not affected by this recall.
