Users are often confused with Parallel twin-screw extruder or conical twin-screw extruder, which is the better?
The twin-screw extruder classification is following:
The rotation direction of the twin-screw: same direction and different direction.
The same direction extruder refers to two screw work in the same direction while different direction extruder refers to two screw work in opposite directions.
Parallel to the axis line of the twin-screw: parallel axis line and intersecting axis line.
The twin screw extruder is parallel axis line; the axis line the conical twin screw extruder is intersecting axis line.
Parallel and conical twin-screw extruder in common: plastic conveyor mechanism forced forward, good mixture of plasticizing capacity and dehydration, the same adaptability of materials and plastic molding process.
The difference of the parallel and conical twin-screw extruder
1, diameter: parallel twin-screw extruder with the same diameter; conical twin screw extruder with different diameters in the large end and the small end.
2, concentric distance: the same center distance in twin-screw extruder; conical twin-screw with the angle changing in the size of the center distance.
3, screw ratio (L/D): parallel double-screw (L/D) means ratio of the effective screw length and the screw cylindrical; conical twin-screw (L / D) means average ratio of the effective length of the screw and the large end and a small end diameter.
From the above, we clearly see the most significant difference in parallel and conical twin screw extruder. Namely they have different geometry of the screw barrel which causes many various structure and performance owning their respective advantages.
