Magna chair acquisition of Pabsa, Argentina

The Magna chair company of Magna International, a Canadian automotive parts supplier, recently acquired Pabsa, a South American car seat supplier, and renamed the company Magna Chair Argentina.

Headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Pabsa supplies products including seat structures, seat covers, foam products and full seats, with sales of approximately US$110 million in 2010. Pabsa has two factories in Buenos Aires and Cordoba, Argentina, employing 960 employees.

After Magna’s seat acquisition of Pabsa, its pace of globalization will further accelerate and it will further strengthen its leading position in the automotive seating market in South America.

Magna seats also recently announced the acquisition of car seat supplier Resil Minas, and established a factory in Sao Paulo, Brazil to supply car seats for GM and Volkswagen.
