Cypress Helps IoT Developers Easily Design Solar-Powered Beacon for Wirelessly Transports Surroundings

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. has introduced a new Beacon complete reference design kit for a batteryless battery sensor for a variety of rapidly growing IoT applications. The new CYALKIT-E02 Solar BLE Sensor Beacon Reference Design Kit gives developers an easy-to-use platform for designing solar wireless sensor nodes that sense ambient temperature and humidity and transmit data over Bluetooth® low-power connections (WSN). The reference design of the Beacon, with a diameter of only 25mm, is equivalent to a dime of 25 cents and is easy to deploy without the need for maintenance and battery replacement, making it ideal for monitoring environmental conditions in smart homes, commercial buildings, factories and agricultural production environments. The reference kit has now begun to accept the scheduled sale price of 49 dollars.

It is expected that by 2020, the market for WSN IoT devices will exceed 5 billion units, which will promote the deployment of more battery-less devices in order to reduce costs and maintain problems.
